Letter from Amit Bansal & SQL Server Performance Tuning Webcast
Hope you are doing well. And I hope you still remember me
Yes, it has been a long time since we wrote to you about our upcoming free webcasts, in-person events or about SQL Server, in general.
But before I talk about what’s coming up, let me first explain why I was so quiet for the last few months.
I completed my SQL MCM on 31st Dec 2013. Last few months of 2013 were very tight due to MCM preparations (and when people study, they go quiet, and MCM needs study :)) and thankfully I became the first Microsoft Certified Master of SQL Server in India (outside Microsoft). Of course, my New Year celebrations doubled up!
In January, this year, we executed our last SQL Server Day events and after that I got extremely busy in a very big and critical SQL project for one of the largest banks in the world – this project sucked me up, literally. Neither could I organize any more SQL events nor was I able to blog!
By the time I completed this project, I was ready to speak at TechEd North America 2014, my 8th global TechEd appearance. And again, I was a top scorer at TechEd and my session on SQL Server 2014 Resource Governor was very well appreciated by the audience. But this time, there was some surprise for me and for everyone, which is still a secret and I will disclose this in a separate blog post
Post TechEd, back to India, I was waiting for the most beautiful event of my life – God blessed me with a little Angel in June last week and this event kept me busy until August end. August 30, I celebrated my birthday with my two kids and wife.
Beginning September, it was time to get back to some SQL action! The first being, I launched a new brand, SQLMaestros.com – All things SQL Server. And we are doing our first free webcast on SQL Server Performance Tuning on October 21. Register Now, it’s free for you!
Under SQLMaestros.com, I am also delivering a 5 day SQL Server Performance Tuning Master Class from December 8 to 12. This is the first time in India, I am opening up my most popular corporate course to the public. Indeed, many have been asking me to deliver a public workshop on SQL Server Performance Tuning and now, it is right here! Register Now if you wish to attend this class.
And for SQLServerGeeks.com, welcome to a completely new website where all our core team members are blogging aggressively and generating free learning content for you. Check out the latest series by SQL Rockstars!
My personal site, amitbansal.net has also undergone a revamp and I have started blogging some non-SQL stuff out there. Yes, I can blog on things other than SQL too
Last but not the least, we have now started using MailChimp service to send emails to our subscribers so that you can easily update your profile and subscription preferences. You can also easily unsubscribe if you do not find our newsletters valuable. I strongly recommend that you do not unsubscribe as there are loads of free webcasts and in-person events lined up and we will have no way to inform you in case you unsubscribe. Also, we are not going to send you more than two emails per month, sometimes even lesser! So hang on and watch our newsletters for more content and events, we are sure you will find it very valuable, we will make it so – Watch out for my next newsletter for another surprise!
And yes, Microsoft awarded me Most Valuable Professional (SQL Server) for 8th time in a row
