Meet Arvind Shyamsundar – the first Microsoft Certified Master in India

Last week, I attended the SQL Bangalore UG meet which was full of stalwarts like Bob Ward, Tejas Shah, Pradeep, Amit Banerjee, Saurabh Agarwal, Vinod, Balmukund and many others from the GTSC team of Bangalore. One of them was Arvind Shyamsundar, the only Principal PFE in India and the first Microsoft Certified Master in India. And I was really looking forward to his session.

I had met Arvind earlier at Microsoft hosted events (at times when I wasn’t an MCM) but had never heard him speaking. This was an opportunity to hear him speak and learn a few things from the Master. He delivered a session on Database Development and focused on the declarative model using SSDT.

The session was so well delivered and apart from the technical knowledge that the audience gained, I especially want to highlight a few things about Arvind as a speaker: He was so calm & composed, so well organized with his decks & demos, the entire flow of the session was smooth and crisp, kept the audience fully engaged from the word go, the epilogue & prologue was just right – I mean a perfect session and that’s what you expect from a MASTER!
